A Few Questions - Plugs, MAF, Oil etc

Giving the car a going over tomorrow.....

2002MY STi PPP

Spark Plugs (if they arrive on time)

Oil/Filter Change (Motul 8100 5w40)

Fuel Filter

K&N Panel (again if it arrives)

H&S Centre Section

Question time.

Do the plugs need gapped? (NGK PFR7B)

Oil - Is it true NOT to fill to the limit of 4.5l?

MAF - Is it safe to clean by just spraying Carb Cleaner?

Thanks

Charlie

always safer to gap the plugs - they may or may not be right
oil - fill to the marks...why not?
MAF - Ive cleaned mine with carb and brake cleaner without issue

I think some of the Classics (I think MY97/98, not sure :wonder:) are susceptible for the wastegate actuator (or is it the boost control solenoid?:wonder:) getting contaminated with excess oil vapours, which then condense into oil droplets clogging it up, thus detrimentally affecting boost characteristics.

You know when this is the case as, IIRC, it gives a sound like a cow mooing, or blowing across the top of a bottle, etc. By filling, say, midway between min and max, (rather than at max), then I think it can prevent this potential problem. :wonder:
