Recommend me a game - 360

Hi guys,

I need some advice in relation to my next game choice, i really enjoyed Oblivion with its ability to walk around a map & pick up missions & also a decent main storyline there as well. I also like the oldish world it was set in.

Are there any games out there at the moment like this ?

I seen fable 2 & it looks kinda similar in the way it works.

Any ideas ?

TIA :thumb:

Have you played Call Of Duty 5. It's set in the world war and the missions you have to complete are great.

Hi,

Yeah my son has it, i dont like that type of game. I like to explore & pick up different missions.

JackClark 21 January 2009 11:50 AM

I haven't played it yet but Fallout is by the same developers as Oblivion.

spectrum48k 21 January 2009 11:52 AM

Fable II is lovely. I got it at Christmas, finished the main game and I still find myself playing it.

Fallout 3 is very good ,not as good or long as Oblivion but does have downloadable content coming out soon (3 lots iirc).

Basically set in the future ,nuclear war has fecked up the Earth ,your dad leaves the Vault you decide to go after him and find out wtf he's upto.

Another vote for fallout 3:thumb:

messiah 21 January 2009 12:14 PM

Fallout 3 if you liked Oblivion that much - exactly the same sort of game but set in a Nuclear wasteland.

Loads of other Sandbox games to try - GTA4. Crackdown, Just Cause, Assasin's Creed...

myblackwrx 21 January 2009 12:18 PM

Crackdown was excellent an underrated game over shadowed by the attraction of having the Halo 3 demo on it.
Whereas on the other hand another sandbox game called Mercenaries 2 should be avoided as it was ****,it was buggy (i got all the achievements without doing ½ the stuff) they may have patched it now tbh

fallout ? crackdown ? :wonder:

StickyMicky 21 January 2009 01:26 PM

Assassins Creed is quite good, i enjoyed it, got a little samey, especially that woman who shouts "just a few coins" but i enjoyed it all the same.

probably pick it up for pennies now!

Viking battle of Asgard is the same kind of thing, but set in "norse" times. should also be able to pick up this for pennies

RB5-Black 21 January 2009 01:32 PM

Fable II is very good but no where near as deep as oblivion and will take you a tenth of the time to complete but its a good game.

Mogsi 21 January 2009 01:59 PM

Another vote for Fallout 3, personally prefer it to Oblivion....

Iain Young 21 January 2009 02:11 PM

Loved Oblivion. Fallout 3 wasn't bad, but is much smaller and personally I didn't think the story was as good.

Fable II is very enjoyable, just a bit short.

spectrum48k 21 January 2009 02:23 PM

Oblivion puts me off as it's apparently so big!

Iain Young 21 January 2009 04:08 PM

It has got a save option you know. You can play it in 30 second chunks if you so desire. Don't understand why having a long engaging storyline is a bad thing? Just means the game will last longer and be more value for money. Even at 140 hours, I was sorry when it finished :)

Stefanie 21 January 2009 04:42 PM

I was wondering what to play next but i'll go back to Oblivion, I'm getting there on the fighters guild 3/4 of the main quest but only started on each of the other guilds...2009 needs to be a dry year for games else it will never be done.

If you go for acheivements that can boost the longevity of a game

Which means you never finish them half the time - I can't bring myself to part with a game I've not got to 100%, feels like unfinished business.

Stefanie 21 January 2009 05:25 PM

i do like to get as many as possible thats why i prefer games that are not all multiplayer acheivements. I finished Fear with 150P

Same here

Northy 7 21 January 2009 07:16 PM

Fallout 3 would be up your street but Dead space and Bioshock are the best 2 single player games on the 360!!!

CoD4 best multiplayer game by a mile!

RichB 21 January 2009 09:38 PM

"CoD4 best multiplayer game by a mile!"
I beg to differ ;), Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 all day long for me, Gave up with CoD4 when I got the 1000G and unlocked prestige mode...

you are officially the number one "1000 point beast" on my friends list :notworthy

i don't know how you do it, or find the time for it!, i don't mind going for points on a game i really love, but some of the more average ones i simply can not bring myself to play through them again to chase the points.

i do feel like i have cheated myself a little, if i pay full RRP and get less then 500 points from a game lol

i think i got around 110 for devil may cry 4, i was a bit gutted tbh, i thought the human and devil hunter modes meant you got different characters :wonder: so i "picked" the human one

it was not until i finished it and realised it was on the easiest difficulty (should have read the instructions) and i could not be arsed to play through it again to get more points, i worked out that you had to complete it around 6/7 times to unluck all the difficultys, and i just could not be arsed, i traded it in within 2 weeks of release (paid £40 iirc) while it was still worth somthing, with a view of buying a cheap second hand copy once it was worth next to nothing to play it again :lol1:

So I shouldn't go and get "My Horse & Me" then eh? :norty:

Currently trying to 1K Fallout 3 but my god it's stingy with the G's...

Save just before you're about to level up to 9, 15 and 20 (think they are correct), then do the good/neutral/evil things all in one go. Easiest way to get bad karma is head to the pub in megaton, in to the back room and keep hacking the guys console, load up save and repeat rinse. That's assuming you have good karma to start with ;)

Got the 1000G and gold cross 55 level 10 prestige and still play it most nights.

Vegas 2 is good but it was waaaaay to much like the first one which i smashed to death so 2 only lasted me a month or so.
