Sudden rapid tyre wear
 

Not on an Impreza but my sisters Corsa VXR.

2-3 weeks ago, her front tyres were low on tread but legal - 3mm or so all across the width of the tyre.

This weekend, the front tyres are all down below the legal limit markers. Now although it is a VXR, she doesn't drive it as it's supposed to be driven and even if she did give it some beans, with these wet, slippery roads I'd be surprised to see that much wear.

Any suggestions as to what could have caused it?

I have dismissed alignment and incorrect pressures as the wear is pretty even over the width but of course, am prepared to stand corrected!

No sign of any damaged rims.

Pretty even wear but the "dealer" who did the last alignemnt admitted they "only lined up the front wheels". What to? Dealers really don't have a clue do they!
