new classic wrx wagon owner

surprise surprise i have a few questions :D

just picked up my new bargain muddy dog car ;) (pics to follow)
its a silver classic wagon 1995 auto wrx (import) (whats the button in front of the gearlever for? not the power one i found that lol )

first things first i want to treat it to a engine service (plugs, oil, filter's) where is the best place for service items and what oil do you guys recomend?
i am a competent home mechanic and will be doing all work my self.
i live near watford if there are any suppliers close would be helpfull.

Also only problem i have found with the car is dimming lights which i put down to either bad earth or alternator on its way out which is quite likely but no big deal.

this is my first scooby and to say i am pleased would be a understatement very impressed with how the car drives indeed and before u say i love the auto :P call me lazy lol

cheers
duncan
ps expect lots of questions to come i am sure ;)

The auto wagons are a great car have one myself 96wrx :luxhello: . Always warm the engine and box up before giving it any stick to avoid any heartache,
That button ( i take it its the black peg sticking up ) is to shift with out the brake pedal . i think its mainly for if there is a problem though, had mine for two years and never used it.
When doing the service use good oil and prime the engine after by disconecting the crank sensor plug and cranking it a few times also pre fill the oil filter (it takes more than you would think). That should avoid any problems with oil starvation.

have you done any mods to yours yet?

Only forced ones like my header tank split so i have out a forge racing one on and uprated discs and pads all round beacuse the ones on it wern't up to much. Also a set of decent matched tyres made a world of differnce but when funds alow i will do uprated suspenion and roll bars. I would love more power ( even though its quick as f8ck) but i need it for my daily runner so im in twominds to risk it .
I know there are people with modded autos that are quick and reliable.
