HEAD GASKETS FOR EJ20G MOTOR ???

I need to replace my HGs :(

I understand that my MY93 WRX's early EJ20G engine uses fibre composite HGs which are good at sealing, but not that strong - correct? I've heard that steel or Cometic steel are excellent replacements, which are stronger.

Is the OEM gasket fitment for the EJ20G 1.6mm or 0.6mm? - I'm sure it's the former :wonder: Would these be the correct ones for my motor...

Regardless, can anyone tell me what the best possible ones are for my motor, how much I should pay, etc. Bearing in mind that I intend to run about 1.4bar later on with 550cc injectors (I'm currently at 1.1bar on 380s).

Basically, any info regarding appropriate parts, info, helpful tips, etc. for HG replacement for my specific motor will greatly help me! :)

Thanks.

Go for the OEM STI Version 3 ~ 4 thick MLS head gaskets which are 1.60 mm uncompressed.

Im also on the look out for a gasket 'set' for a EJ20GD. Most of the ones I see are EJ20GN? Are there different types for open and closed deck or summot or do they all fit the same upto 96MY? Mine is closed deck.

Hi merlin, thanks.

MLS? Is this a company that sell them (never heard of them, if so lol). Any chance of contact info or a link, etc.? :)

Would these RCMS v.3/4 ones be equivalent, then? :wonder:...

MLS are Multi Layered Steel (as in your RCMS link) :)
