quick panel filter question
 
Hi
this is a photo of my panel filter
what id like to know is, can i steam clean it or not. or do i have to use special cleaner, im not even sure if i can clean this filter at all , or does it have to http://i382.photobucket.com/albums/o...ter/CAR011.jpgbe replaced.

If it's anythng like the K&N or pipercross ones i've had before you need a washing kit for it. It gets cleaned from the inlet side to push all the dust, dirt out of the filter. Once it's dry it gets a coat of filter oil to help trap the dust, dirt etc again when it's back in place.

Buy the colour and make up, either a Cosworth or Simota filter. All need a cleaning fluid to get best results and cleaned as above.
Air hose also helps to blast out the crap. Cleaning fluids and filter oil are cheap.
Would refrain from steam cleaning, as this could damage it.
