People just can't afford to catch bird flu anymore. We're just going to have to make do with the regular strain of flu for the time-being, at least until the economy starts to pick up again. Then I'll be first in the queue for a dose.

I blame New Labour.

Amazing how "the next big thing" slips down the ladder, bird flu was going to be this imminent global pandemic that was going to trim back the population like the black death

Bird Flue.... Tends to be a summer thing. The smoke/heat keeps them away during the winter whilst the fire's on. :D

BBC NEWS | World | Asia-Pacific | China treats toddler for bird flu

It's back!!

Flu always comes from birds - it will cross the species barrier at some point, in a form that then becomes transmissable / infective between humans. A ticking time bomb, in essence, more when than if (influenza virus is always a bird transmitted/ carried disease - crosses the species barrier, generally in China, on a periodic basis). I think there have been something like 4 big outbreaks in the last 100 years or so - the media got carried away, as ever, but it will reappear at some point.

BIRD FLU could be quickly and easily eradicated by adding a few drops of Lemsip or Daynurse to birdbaths. Obviously, you would have to put Nightnurse in the birdbaths for owls.

ŠVIZ top tips.
