Insurance for Subaru Drivers

Hey Guys

My insurance is up soon and my renewal isnt that much cheaper considering I have another years no claims...

I'm paying £1500 on a 03 STI

If you dont mind please share what you guys pay and what age you are (or thereabouts)?? what car etc..

Thank you in advance

N_Scooby 14 January 2009 03:59 PM

Give Gary Moulson a ring 0208 288 0275. The company is called Keith Michaels. Make sure you speak to Gary as he specialises in Scoobs. He should be able to sort you out.

I pay £550 all mods declared. 34 yrs old, loads of no-claims, 1995 WRX and I live in Dorset. I know of younger people with cheaper premiums than that (if only I had a garage!!).

Lady T 14 January 2009 04:06 PM

Hey thats not bad at all,

I tried contacting them last time and was told I'd get a call back and never did :(

Tried after that with no luck...

A friend of mine on here is with them and he has had no problems so maybe it was just me bad luck.

Il give them a shout.

Cheers

GazTheHat 14 January 2009 04:08 PM

£618, all mods declared. 34, 2 drivers, 6pts, no drive/tracker/garage, heap of NCB. (APlan)

sKunk 14 January 2009 04:10 PM

I have an 03 STI, cheapest of the main insurers quoted me £1150, Keith Michaels quoted me £650.

bigarf 14 January 2009 04:12 PM

i went with keith micheals last year after being quoted over £1000 for my insurance.with all mods declared they did it for a little over £600. 37 years old full no claims,3 points for speeding,03 sti with quite a few mods.

N_Scooby 14 January 2009 04:33 PM

Should have mentioned he is a very busy man. Keep trying, you will eventually get him and hopefully save some money. I think I tried about 6 times over the course of 2 days - but saved £200 so it was worth the effort :thumb:

ColiNThESTI 14 January 2009 04:56 PM

Oh and full no claims.

pikeywrx 14 January 2009 05:32 PM

26no ncb and some points can drive any thing i want 4 or 500 quid a year cant remember lol

gallois 14 January 2009 05:33 PM

are you getting insistance on thatcham cat1 alarm, i had a quote and it insists on cat 1 or 2 alarm or immobiliser fitted by VISB intaller, my car is imported and has only the subaru immobiliser and this is not thatcham recognised, my current insurer does not require a thatcham approved system, the savings over a mainstream company is negated by the cost to have a cat1 fitted by VISB installer.

Richie c 14 January 2009 05:37 PM

I'm 29 with 6yncb and drive a my97 WRX £600 A-plan all mod's declared point's and a none fault accident kept on drive.
Just got a quote on a 05 sti type uk £688 of tesco's comparrison website

sammydice 14 January 2009 05:40 PM

Greenlight - quoted me £700ish for a 2003 STI or £780 with PPP

Adrian Flux would not touch it unless I had owned the car for a year...and Tesco just said a flat NO !!!

I am 38 9 years NCB - but sh*t postcode in basildon and car would left on road over night

Not actually bought one yet still on the look out..

Hope this helps..

Ian

gallois 14 January 2009 05:43 PM

you don't have to say if you have or have not a cat1 alarm, just if the insurer asked for it
