What is the colour code for the inlet manifold OE wrinkle red? Where did you get yours from? I presume it was an aerosol can. Did you use any (special) primer? I want a job that will last a few years rather than just flake off again.

not to hard hey, maybe u can give me an example then x x lol

Peanuts 14 January 2009 01:47 PM

ok, remove the electrical bits from it, unbolt it, clean it, paint it, buy and fit new gaskets, refit the manifold and bolt it down, put the electrical bits back on, site back and admire your work.

KareenaBaby 14 January 2009 05:42 PM

hmm seems easy but no ways can i open the bolts lol....would i also need high temprature sealent?

:luvlove:

a place called car builder solutions (google it), yeah is an aerosol, didn't bother with etch prime cause it had already been shot blasted.

done mine myself look's ok , not asgood as the wrinkle stuff but im impatient lol not bad for under a tenner .

Ianm1983 14 January 2009 09:10 PM

can you strip the paint off them and polish them?

now that would look good, if you had a spare 5 million years to polish it properly.

open bolts with a spanner if they are proud, or with an allen socket if the are recessed, can't remember which they are as its been a while.
No sealent needed as your going to put two new gaskets in there (1 each side, available from the dealer network).

Or, pay up the £150 or so it would cost to get someone to do it for you.

Banny

powder coating is not an easy thing to do right?

Peanuts 15 January 2009 10:51 AM

if you're not prepared to spray then I very much doubt you could powder coat.
