turbo timers

for all u lot who have a turbo timer fitted - how long do you set yours for ?? mine is set at 2minutes and boy does that 2 mins feel a lifetime

Connor_scotland 13 January 2009 07:24 PM

Do you need to use this everytime you take the car a run?

zeuss 13 January 2009 07:32 PM

tbh i havent a clue - its set up and only had the car since the weekend

andyswagon 13 January 2009 07:48 PM

i have a blitz FATT DC turbo timer and it automatically sets the time for you depending on how long and how the car has been driven. or you can set the time yourself!

like this one........

Electronics : Subaru Impreza Blitz Turbo Timer

Pointless tat IMO just drive the last mile off boost and you wont need to let the car idle when you stop

KINGTIGER 13 January 2009 08:16 PM

Just wondered about these turbo timers I hav one on my STI. But someone said they r only usefull on oil cooled turbos but ain't scooby's turbos water cooled.

Anyone shed any light?

zeuss 13 January 2009 08:21 PM

mine was at 1min10sex..
i put it on 2 mins but if i am in a hurry, i know i need to drive like a good lad for some 5 mins or so....

no need to rush on 1 bar boost all the way and then wait 2 mins for it to cool...

i sometimes lock it with the timer still running tho:lol:

M444GY 13 January 2009 09:18 PM

why dont u just sit in the car for 2 mins ??? with the engine running , turbo timers are a waste of money imo

Underworld 13 January 2009 09:25 PM

it was on the car when i bought it,...
when coming home and going to work, i do leave it and lock the car and go.. as its in secure places.

i wouldnt buy one though , if it was on the car fair enough

Tomski_908 14 January 2009 07:03 AM

Don't know why people really don't like turbo timmers?? :wonder:

Mines set on auto, so if i drive like a good boy it only runs for 10secs but soon counts up if i drive on boost all the time most i've had it too was about 6mins lol

I think their a good idea and cheap enough not to be a major waste of money! Plus ain't white clocks a waste of money or modding you scooby at all!

Depends how you drive it mate 1min is normally plent, as long as you haven't been ragging the ar$e off it before! :thumb:

You dont need a turbo timer on a water cooled turbocharger. Its nothing more than a silly gimmick: popular in a nation where the more buttons you have to control your mirrors the happier you are.....

:nono: So do you just turn your car off when you get home etc? Althou you can drive slow(of boost) for a mile before you get to location, some people don't want too! So for them a T/T is worth while!!!

GC8 14 January 2009 07:25 AM

Nonsense.
