Foofin' heck, what an album!! (If you're maybe 32-45yo)

Sunday evenings usually see me ripping and downloading music and this'll be on repeat for the next few weeks....

hmv.com: music: Grange Hill: Album: 3cd (2008)

Mostly stonkers, couple of dogs but choc full of classics.
Just had a flick through and even without seeing the track names, most tunes identified (and sung along with :D) within a few seconds.

Aaah, nostalgia....

what would scooby do 11 January 2009 08:55 PM

Some classics there!

Oh and some uber cheese :D

HankScorpio 11 January 2009 08:56 PM

Pure scout disco circa 1983 :D

What a playlist!! Those were the days when i was down the record shop every weekend without fail. Haven't counted accuratley but i reckon i've still got over 25 of those tracks on 7" vinyl! Happy days. They don't make them like that any more... :)

lightning101 12 January 2009 08:54 AM

How do they make records now then ? :)

TelBoy 12 January 2009 08:55 AM

Blimey it's worse than i thought. I've got 38 of those tracks!!

With earplugs in, mainly

GC8 12 January 2009 08:58 AM

Needs a bit of B-Movie Tel.....

GC8 12 January 2009 08:59 AM

Track 16 surprises me. Its a classic, but I really thought that it had been forgotten...

lightning101 12 January 2009 09:00 AM

So do you still play around with 7 inches or does the internet give you what you need :)

lovinmescoob 12 January 2009 09:05 AM

B-Movie :- Nowhere Girl 12" version was great, still got it on vinyl

YouTube - B-Movie Nowhere Girl

You still hear it occasionally. Still remember them on TOTP :lol1:

The last track, by contrast, really SHOULD have been forgotten.

I can usually find what i need on YouTube but you can't beat an evening with a selection of shiny black 12 inchers and a nice sharp needle. :)

GC8 12 January 2009 09:12 AM

Its a mixture of nostalgia and cheese.

lozgti 12 January 2009 09:15 AM

Its brought back loads of memories for me.

I left 6th form in 86

Cheestalgia? I'll reserve that term for songs by Kraftwerk, I think. :D

GC8 12 January 2009 10:26 AM

Tour De France will be my next nostalgic YouTube selection, followed by a bit of Devo and then, maybe, a little more Elvis...

HankScorpio 12 January 2009 01:06 PM

Just realised that "Just say no" isn't on it :(

;)

Markus 12 January 2009 02:14 PM

Some excellent tracks on there, but I too am surpsied that "Just Say No" isn't featured. Also, where is Nena's classic "99 luftballons".

Just listening to "Just An Illusion" :)

Oh dear god no! I've just seen Shakin' Stevens in on there, will have to remove that one from the playlist :D

It's also good to note that it's the original "Chicken Man" theme tune on there and not one of the remixes from later series.

EddScott 12 January 2009 04:05 PM

Just record local radio, I'm sure you'd get most of them. :)

That playlist reminds me of Fox FM.
