MY09 Subaru Impreza 2.0TD-RS 350 NM TORQUE

Well lads,

Just thought I'd stick this up.

I'm thinking of trading in my STi for the more affordable and all new 2.0TD-RS

I've been looking at them since they came on sale here last week.

I know alot of subaru lovers won't like it but I have to say that the RS seems to be alot of car for the money.

Now the STi spoiler and prodrive wheels are not standard on them but they really set the car off I think.

I'm going to go and have a test drive in one this week hopefully to see what I think of the 150bhp diesel engine.

Anyway here what see looks like.

Subaru Impreza Sti-Diesel *must see* - 32750 - Used Cars on Carzone.ie - New & Used Cars in Ireland

I think if I was going for one it would be black with Gold wheels but the WR blue does look good.

I take it no one has an opinion about these.

They're are far better diesels (tried and tested) out there. I personally wouldn't buy a car thats trying to be something it isn't.

Tbh mate most don't like the new shape period, but that sort of money i'd be looking at a new golf gt tdi, i've driven one of these back from blackpool and it really impressed me. There is so many out there to choose from but at the end of the day its you that has to like/drive it every day.

so it's a diesel, made to look like an STi?
at 32,000€, that's a lot of coin for a wannabe, i think i'd go 2nd hand and get the real deal. altho you're in ireland, so a trip over to england to pick uo a 07 STi for 10,000. saw a post about it earlier, adn with the € so good against the pound right now

hi Eric,

Just checked the prices and thats not too bad though considering the extras?

The RS it seems is pretty well specced

I dont know where the dealer is coming from though calling it a STi ?

Sub 9 seconds to 100kmh is hardly STi territory  :D

I thought the feature in issue 6 of total impreza made the future STId an interesting prospect with power from a 2.5 diesel, not a 2.0.
The power figures estimated around a 0-60 at 5.5 seconds and top speed of 144mph really was a tempting one. This spec may even be developed for the future return to WRC...
The three bonnet scoops looked interesting too-Not for purists, but i think a definite, exciting alternative IF it goes in the right direction.
Eric,i'd wait till the full spec has been announced as who knows whats around the corner.

Lads the Dealer is just trying to attract attention with him calling it an STi/look alike.

It's not an STi nor do I think it's even close to one, I have had 7 Impreza's to date three of which have been STi's.

It is what I said it is a 2.0TD-RS.

If I go for the 2.0TD which is two models down it cost €10,000 less but has the same power.

I test drove it today. Not to slow at all and it handles very well for what it is.

I am only looking at this because I am an Impreza fan 100% and as my life style has Changed due to a new baby and having to travel further to work these days it is the car that I think can fit the bill.

It's defo not trying to be an STi nor an STi-d

By the way an STI over here costs €72000 and the cheapest second hand one over here is over €55000

jeez, and i thought Finland was expensive for these cars. but even we aren't on a 55k level. however i do envy the UK lot having cars valued at 10k....
