05 Head Unit and MP3 player connection
 

Hi Guys,

I've recently purchased an 05 WRX wagon and it has the factory HU with the in dash multichanger.
The question i have for those in the know is can this be linked up to an MP3 player, i'm not worried about controlling it via the HU just want to play songs via the Mp3?

any advice much appreciated.
I did look in the FAQ section but couldn't find a clear answer especially as there seems no reference to my particular HU.

you could check the back of the stereo for connections

or buy a MP3 FM transmiter and listen to it on you radio

you can get a IPOD connector, that goes in the Multichanger socket and plays IPOD through the HU.

I was doing this until I got the IPHONE 3G then it wouldnt charge the unit so I change the whole unit for Pioneer setup with blue tooth and full IPOD control.

I think the standard unit was a kenwood part, have my old head unit and IPOD bit in a box in the garage somewhere, will try and dig it out and let you know
