South West Imprezas - please read

Hey guys!

Have been bouncing a few ideas off Stu (admin) and i thought it would be great if we could incorporate a South West forum into ScoobyNet, as other guys have done, like ESC & WYIOC.

Stu has rightly asked what kind of response this would get if implemented and well, i dont know :wonder:

Personally, i think there are alot of members in the SW, being Cornwall, Devon, Avon/Somerset, Dorset, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire that would benefit from our very own section of the SN forum.

We could organise local meets, attend local shows, etc. Or team up with the other SN local forums for the bigger national shows.

What do you think, would you take part in a forum dedicated to us down here in the South West?

Stu is looking for a good response, so if you think this would work, please post here and hopefully we can get something sorted quickly :thumb:

I`m from Cirencester/Gloucestershire and although I don`t currently own a scooby it would be nice to attend local meets when I get one, which should be very shortly now.

With the UK-MKIVS.NET site, we have a south west region and alternate the meets every week, so one month it would be Gloucester, then Swindon, Bristol etc etc.

Gets the :thumb: from me.

I'm from Chard in South Somerset, yeah would be good to have meets down this way.

Already had to correct one guy saying a wrx had piston slap due to forged pistons only problem is only sti's have that luxury, it was probably noisy lifters.

Elowarr knows me well, met him in the past, id have hung around but sws is dead down this way so wasn't much point in my hanging around. ;)

No chav wagons allowed on this one, jap cars only >>> Board Message

Its an excellent spot for photos too!

hux309 11 January 2009 08:24 AM

One problem with the multi storey, i don't think my splitter will let me in. :p

Well i can make the ground level but it's too dodgy to try the other levels.

I may attempt it if someone keeps an eye on the car.

Boro 11 January 2009 03:12 PM

Hey Hux, we'll be on the entry level anyway, so no need to worry about the splitter :thumb:

hux309 11 January 2009 03:23 PM

Ideal, i might just have to make a showing then. :thumb:

Quite chuffed atm, i could never figure out how the car was jumpy on part throttle, i spied an oil trail coming from the pipe on the turbo, tightened the bugger up and it calmed down a fair bit, so must have been a boost leak, sodding thing lol.

Yeah would be good, something a bit more specific, you've seen what the vtec brigade is like. ;)

Aah so that was you boro, shame about your splitter though been through one myself.

Budgie 12 January 2009 10:09 PM

if you ask me i think you should stay in here
the reason essex moved on is because they got too big
with about 20 threads on southern we were overwhelmed
when they left it was dead in here
now things are starting to improve and msoc dont have too many threads
you only had 3 active threads in the last 7 days
not enough to warrant leaving us on our own
please stay and keep us company

budgie:thumb:

FWIW i said the same to MSOC when they asked to move

hux309 14 January 2009 03:00 PM

How about county arms truro, nice and central, easy to find with good parking and reasonable food.

It's near sainsbury's for those that don't know. ;)

Say first sunday next month around 2pm, about time someone around here pulled their finger out lol.

I used to arrange pug meets there and it's a good location, also has an aldi opposite for those that fancy taking home some cheep booze. :thumb:

Boro 14 January 2009 03:11 PM

I like County Arms, been there a few times and the food is decent. Like you said the carpark is a good size but does it get busy on Sundays?

Ive only been weekday eves and struggled to park/get a table for between 6-8 people.

Ideal location if it doesnt get that busy tho!
