BBC in trouble Again

It seems that comments I made about what I'd like to do to Lindsay Lohan :norty: on a program about the most annoying people, has upset the pc brigade :D

davegtt 07 January 2009 11:26 AM

:lol1: I watched some of that and did see Ron commenting on somebody but I cant for the life of me remember who or what he said. Any links?

TelBoy 07 January 2009 11:29 AM

Ron, if that's who you're pretending to be, couldn't you at least have spelled your name correctly? :wonder:

TelBoy 07 January 2009 11:31 AM

And hers, come to mention it. :wonder:

mrtheedge2u2 07 January 2009 11:32 AM

what were the comments???????? :D

TelBoy 07 January 2009 11:36 AM

Ron Jeremy accused of "institutional indecency" by the BBC after discussing sex acts he would perform with Lindsay Lohan and Ronson, "leaving a bad taste" in viewer's mouths

It doesn't elaborate on what sort of bad taste it would leave... :Suspiciou

TelBoy 07 January 2009 11:37 AM

And viewer's should be viewers'

No, it could be that there was just one viewer with more than one mouth ;)

TelBoy 07 January 2009 11:40 AM

Shut up :D

Have you got nothing better to do than picking up on grammatical errors on a car enthusiast’s forum? :D

TelBoy 07 January 2009 11:43 AM

Enthusiasts', Chris, for the same reasons.

Put me on ignore, problem sorted. :)

Hmmm, shouldn't it just be car enthusiasts, as in the plural of a car enthusiast? ;)

As in a forum for car enthusiasts, we don't own it.......

Geezer

ronjeramy 07 January 2009 11:55 AM

Talk about going off topic.

Gear Head 07 January 2009 12:03 PM

Thanks to Telboy! :D

Geezer

You'd have to write it as a forum for car enthusiasts, then. :lol1:

Guys, can we please not turn this into a bun fight over standards of English, .

I've said it before: the T&Cs do not require that everyone articulate every post they make perfectly, just that they make an effort. An incorrect use of an apostrophe here and there is no cause for anyone to get their knickers in a twist!

If folks start using text speak, or abuse punctuation in a manner that renders their posts unreadable, then we will act.

In the meantime, please disregard the odd error, if only for the sake of keeping the thread on topic! ;)

Cheers,

Ns04

TelBoy 07 January 2009 12:32 PM

Thing is, NS04, my original post wasn't even directed at any post made by anyone on here, it was just escalated unnecessarily. :)

If my posts about grammar and spelling on here offend you, delete them. I shall continue where i think appropriate. Cheers. :)

But you are not mod, you just like to think you are. :thumb:
Leave the grammatical up keep to the officials.

I know, I know.... but I think a clarification of the rules was necessary so the SN position was clear.

I think this whole issue requires a bit of understanding and tolerance on both sides: you need to understand that not everyone will aspire to your high standards, furthermore, the T&Cs do not require that they do.

However, there is no need for people to get so uptight should you point an error out, especially if the comment wasn't aimed at them! :) Tolerance works both ways :)

I have a lot of time for you, Tel. You're a constructive member of SN, so i would just politely ask you and anyone else who appreciates the finer points of composition: feel free to give constructive pointers, BUT if you can see that being a bit pedantic about someone's English is winding them up, take the high ground and let it go rather than aggitate them.

No one benefits when threads go off topic and turn into bun fights! And a perfectly articulated bun fight is still a bun fight! :thumb:

All the best,

Ns04

PS. lets get this thread back on topic!

You reckon? :lol1: 5 years here and you know that little about me? Nice :D

TelBoy 07 January 2009 12:46 PM

TelBoy 07 January 2009 12:52 PM

Ok, now i've seen his attempt at agitate

EddScott 07 January 2009 12:56 PM

Like RJ really gives a monkeys what other people think of him.

Personally you can keep Ronson, shes clearly the bloke in the relationship. Why in a lesbian relationship does one quite often look like a bloke? Seems to defeat the object IMO.

New_scooby_04 07 January 2009 12:57 PM

Well, you wouldn't be happy unless I got something wrong!

Ron - What did you want to do to Lindsay Lohan?

I know what I'd like to do to her!! :norty:
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Send her to rehab
Give her acting lessons!
Oh, and ask her why on eath she blew Alex Best!
