sorry newbie q really

i have a classic uk ..with a built 2.5 from the clinic.

i have an option to fit a 2006 wrx 3rd/4th gearset with proper bits into a a stock 5speed i have broken while driving like miss daisey(prev owner???)

what i am after is ballpark fig's that the proposed gear set would handle compared to a stock uk 5 speed
sorry to be dim
big thanks in advance!

Torque kills gearboxes and 2.5's make more torque than 2ltrs do, so your option is to replace the parts and hope that the gearbox doesnt go again or go for a 6 speeder, which is probably a better option though slightly more expensive one....

thanks tony.
i am aware that the 6speed is the best way
but i am like a lot on a budget..i wont be doing qtrs like shoot out(seen it done it broke it :P) or trackdays etc and am looking to get a good gearset to not worry about it falling apart under normal use.
i am being vague re power i have just becuse i dont know..its not runing sillly boost since i bought it(still over 300bhp)....prev owner was running 383bhp and 365lbs foot.
thanks aagin for the info.!

What year and model is the 2.5 car?, as certain gearsets will not interchange easily. It gets tricky in some cases to swap JDM car gears [ wrx ] , they are different ratios to UK/Euro and you might end up with two 3rd gears [ sort of ] in the set up.

Your busted box will need to be a TY754 type at least.

Let us have some better info and we can probably advise better.
