"Check engine light" fault code question
Hi everyone,
I tried on 22B but response so far so I thought I'd repeat my question on here! I was hoping that someone could help my brother with a fault code problem. He has a friend with an Impreza Wagon in Bermuda, the "check engine" light is flashing fault code 49 which he has determined is a "CO Resistor" fault. I assume someone has left the wires joined together otherwise I wouldn't have expected a flashing fault code to have been displayed. I've never come accross this fault code, or even a CO sensor, can anyone help in identifying this? He's trying to sell the car so would like to put it right. I think it's a 1998 car with a 1600cc N/A engine. Cheers, Martin |
Can anyone help please?

Can't help personally but you could try on .:ImprezaSport.net:.

My MG ZS comes up with this from time to time as it has a sports cat fitted. There's a sensor in the exhaust just after the cat that measures gas levels to check cat efficency. That might be causing the problem
normally there's a couple of sensors in the system, most cars seem to have one before and one after the cat Hope that helps a bit |
OK thanks, I was really hoping for some confirmation of code 49 and if it is really called an O2 resistor and what that might be. I know many cars do have 2 02 sensors, one before and one after the Cat.
