removing decals
want to remove the old style rear wrx decals on my 97 impreza, have been told that its possible to get it off, if careful with a heat gun? plus won't remove it if it will leave a shadow on the paint work or will it polish out.
Thanks Phil |
yep, use a heat gun. Just warm it up enough so you can peel it off.
Dont hold it in the same place too long though!! Remove any glue left behind with tar/glue remover, if you haven't got any then petrol on a rag usually does the trick. Regards to the fading, you ain't really going to know untill the sticker is off. A good bit of elbow grease, t-cut and polish should remove light fading. If not use some cutting compound. Pulled the sticker off my 94 wrx and there was hardly any fading. Go on...Pull it off.....you know you wanna:D |
will give it ago tomorrow!!! cheers!

Consider also, using a hair dryer.
As said, tar and glue remover for the residue. I've only ever noticed any to be left at the edge of the sticker. Also as already said, get it pulled off. You know it makes sense. :D |
I would say hair dryer aswell.
