Help with manual boost fitting

Hi guys. Was wondering if anyone has instructions on how to fit one??

pipes ? ?

Waste gate goes to boost solenoid - Do i need to install there??

As this picture shows. But it don't say anything about boost solenoid, do i reconnect back to boost solenoid or go to the bov ? If i have to go as per picture, what do i do about the pipe that goes to boost solenoid??

Any help/suggestions appreciated.

Thanks

Carl

Not sure on your car but when i fitted manual boost contoller, i set to 1.1 bar as the fuel cut come in at 1.2 bar.
All is mapped now to 1.4.

The manual boost controller replaces the boost solenoid so you just disconect all the pipes and follow the dig! But don't disconnect is as will bring up engine light! :thumb:

Do you have a boost gauge to help set this up??

Carl Bentley 03 January 2009 12:57 PM

Yes i have a boost gauge.

So how do i block the pipes that will be disconnected?? Is there some sort of special tool or can they just be tied back??

Tomski_908 03 January 2009 04:18 PM

Just disconnect them from the boost sol and thats it use the hoses to fit your manual one!

Carl Bentley 03 January 2009 04:32 PM

So they don't need blocking off then ??

Tomski_908 03 January 2009 04:54 PM

Nope coz it won't be doing anything!!

Hi,
The diagram in you op is not the correct one for your car, a) the smaller pipe from the dv goes to 1 of the 3 ports on the inlet, ala http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j8...tdumpvalve.jpg b)you will only need the 2 pipes from the top and middle of the boost solenoid so it will look like this one when the MBC is fitted http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j8...enoid20004.jpg c) if you then disconnect the very bottom hose from the boost solenoid and thread a bolt or simular into it to prevent unmetered air being drawn in and just to be sure no sh1t gets pulled into the boost solenoid you can use a bit of hose to loop the top and middle port. Fitting guide for your car http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j8...ABCD0002-1.jpg Hth ;)

btw my boost solenoid is a 3 port not 2

Glowplug 03 January 2009 06:11 PM

Yeah mine too, same MY. The very bottom pipe just bleeds into the air intake :thumb:
