TD05/18g Newage on Powerstation rollers
Anyone had a dyno run there? And had did you get on?
I know numbers are not everything, but got quite a lot less than the delta dash. I'll get the graph up sometime soon. Boys @ PS were happy with it and said it looked and ran well (after ecu reset). Just interested to hear stories/figures/see graphs. There was a boy with a VF34 05 Newage, seemed a bit miffed about his figures. |
My runs were fine see my scooby for the graphs, 275.1BHP on a wrx with Milltek 3' etc. Pretty much as expected.

I had a run on the rollers at interpro (bristol/gloucs) and got almost exactly the same figs as my delta dash run, in fact the torque was exactly the same and the bhp was 4 higher.
I'm booked in for a shootout at PS early feb so will be interesting to see what happens there |
c360bhp and 311 torque. 1.35 boost. Got it remapped at zen to about 372bhp.
I now have the 321h at c382.. 328 torque. My mods are in 'my scooby' |
Mine was 343/319 (1.63 bar). They only could measure upto 1.5 bar though.
I'll try and get a scanner to up the graph for comments. |

I had 332 at PS last year running a VF35 (1.5bar peak) WRX usual mods. Had the map tweaked since and although it's not been on a dyno, it definitely pulls a lot harder, so I'd imagine it'd be a tad higher now..:)
Gaz, what were your delta dash figures..? Also, what did the VF34'd 05 WRX get for the owner to be disappointed..? FWIW, a modded 05 STI on the rollers just before me , running either a VF35/34 (can't recall now) managed 333bhp. Now he was a bit miffed that my WRX was putting down similar figures (not to mention +100kgs lighter)..:D At the end of the day we all know you might as well be measuring strawberries, but provided you use the same dyno getting more strawberries for each mod is all that matters..;) |
The DD average was about 380-something/350-something, best was 392/361.
The guy with the 05 STi - VF34 got 320/275. Are the PS rollers notoriously lower figures? I got 315/290 on the Dastek rollers (faulty NP switch), that was only the VF35, p-headers, decat, pump. |

They are known for being one of the lowest reading, but this doesn't mean they're not accurate IYSWIM..? Dyno figures are only really good for direct comparison (provided you use the same dyno that is) ie checking to see if your latest round of mods have been successful. Even then there are far too many variables, different days = different ambient temp/pressure, fuel quality differences, tyre pressures/wear, operator etc. etc..! The bum dyno is probably just as accurate..:lol1: One other thing is, road mapped cars 'tend' not to perform as well on the dyno, quite often not making mapped peak boost when it should..;) There is something like a 10% difference between highest and lowest reading dyno's out there and you could say that PS are at the lower end with somewhere like Well lane at the top..:eek: |

+1. At the end of the day, you don't drive the car on the rollers. If it feels god on the road with the bum dyno, it pays not to get too caught up with RR figures! I've had my car four or so years now and have not been even slightly inclined to visit a RR.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying RRs don't have their uses. Clearly they do, nor am I trying to re-start a tired and redundant debate between road mappers and RR mappers about which is best. It's a false dichotomy, as most now realise that road mappers occassionally use RRs and RR mappers often test on the road. I'm just saying that the only figures that matter to me as a customer is how quick the car is on the road i.e. how quickly it can cover a given increment. That is the litmus test for a performance car, not it's output on a RR IMHO Ns04 |

BHP seems up to 5% more, but torque is down against that of a DD. Delta Dash could be anywhere!! ;) :D

I only put it on the rollers as i felt the ECU had pulled everything back and it seemed to be hit and miss power. The ECU was reset and the run done just to check, so naturally i was interested in the figures.
I'll be home in a week and get the graph uploaded. I'd then love to hear comments from the graph experts. It's just lines to me. :lol1: |
