Anyone used diagnostic software?

I got a Gendan diagnostic lead and Engine Check software and hooked it all up today and went for a spin. Worked a treat and happily recorded lots of sensor information. Also no faults were found which is encouraging.

Firstly, I was wondering if my 04 STI had a boost sensor so I can measure boost levels.

Secondly, does anyone know if I be am able to get bhp or torque figures from calculating any sensor readings?

Thanks :)

The cars all have MAP sensors so you can measure boost levels.

You can use the rate of acceleration, gear ratios, tire size etc to calculate the BHP figures but the generic OBDII protocol is quite slow so your readings might not be too correct. The Evoscan software which uses the OpenPort cable uses the faster Subaru specific SSM protocol and has a screen to calculate BHP and torque. You can have a look at EvoScan OBDII Mitsubishi MUTII DataLogger Scantool
