BONNET KEEPS UNDOING-BUGEYE
The cable seems free enough and when I push release down with screwdriver it does not CLICK OR LOCK into place.I havnt tried WD40 yet.Is there a adjustment I can make.thanks
|
Mine used to pop open now and again no matter how carefully I shut it. Bit of light engineering oil (or engine oil) on the moving parts of the latch sorted it for me. Try that as the adjustment should never really go out, unless you open it every day or it's had a front ender.

I had this happen after only a few month of buying my 1993 WRX. I just gave the latch mechanism a liberal soaking of WD40 and repeatedly moved the latch back and forth by hand until nice and free moving. Has been fine since.
Try the above... but then also add light oil to it as mentioned e.g. 3-in-1 or sewing machine oil - you should be good to go after that :) |
THANKS ALL FOR REPLIES WD40 DID THE JOB JOZ-CHEERS

Put some 3 in 1 oil on it. WD40 evaporates and dosnt leave enough lubricant on it so it might happen again!!
