Well surely there,s not much that can touch the RA-R is there?? ok there,s more powerful cars etc, but for sheer handling, power delivery the RA-R has to be up there..

gordyra r 23 December 2008 10:19 PM

not for 35k you wouldnt :D add 10k and you will be close

Shaun 23 December 2008 10:46 PM

The only car I have driven and nearly bought to replace my 500++ Spec C was a 997 Turbo. Anything else (for what I want) and I would feel cheated.... unfortunately the 997 TT is some what more than £35k. Horses for courses and personal taste. :) The only other car would perhaps be a GT-R. :)

scooby-tc 23 December 2008 10:51 PM

now youre raising the bar to 50k cars :D and for that money it would be the ferrari 360 or the corvette ZR1

G-string 23 December 2008 10:54 PM

A 3k wrx ra and a minter in these times and hide the rest under the floorboards, well there is a credit crunch ;)

Shaun 23 December 2008 11:04 PM

Scooby-tc,
Buying a Ferrari is easy.... running / maintaining a Ferrari is something else. If a Ferrari was as reliable / cheap (relatively) to run, I would of bought one last year. :D

Did not mean to raise the bar, just emphasising that for something as good as the Spec C I would need to spend much more money. :D

gordyra r 23 December 2008 11:05 PM

997 turbo or gtr

997 turbo used or gtr if i had 55 k but u can get some cars now for 35k used u can get a 06 m5 remap and delimeter 550hp and 205 mph lol

Shaun 23 December 2008 11:08 PM

True..... but it depends what you want the car for. Personally I am not ready for my pipe and slippers yet for the M5, regardless of how much grunt it may have.... which is actually less than my Spec C. :D Cracking cars though.... but just not my thing at the moment. :)

scooby-tc 23 December 2008 11:09 PM

Havent seen the 'Ring Taxi's' recently then :D now one of them id have over my Spec C in an instant

gordyra r 23 December 2008 11:43 PM

The Ring Taxis aren't that fast. They are there to entertain customers, not take risks and set lap records.

I'm in a similar predicament at the moment and have chosen to stick with MY07 STI and splash a few grand on it for more power and other upgrades upto around the 420/420 mark.

I seriously considered two cars for a change and that was the new M5 or a TVR Sagaris, I drove both and loved both, if I did change I'd of gone with the Sagaris on the basis of looks, performance and the wow factor, the M5, like Shaun mentions above, is just too old for me at this point, an excellent car for the more mature driver that still wants an insane car, just a bit too sensible, same as the RS4, RS6 etc
