can anyone help I have just bought a type r with the bottom end knoking the car was cheap and I was hoping for a little help on a few things I picked up the car a week last friday and we have fitted a rebuilt motor last friday I dont know a lot about the hstory of the car but can anyone tell me the following ; the car has a vf28 turbo is this standard , it is fitted with purple injectors I know these are not standard but what sort of spec are they , it has a dastek pigyback ecu are they any good as I would like to get the car remaped just to make sure that all is ok or should I scrap it and get it remaped somewhere else and one last thing the car is a 1998 type r sti 4 is the standard ecu remapable (Ps the olds motor is being put to good use been to see a engine builder today and I have put a few photos on my profile)

No the standard eciu on a V4 isnt mappable only options are a complete ecu swap or an esl daughterboard (which is slightly cheaper) purple injectors are 550cc injectors.VF28 is a turbo from a STi 5 it has a VF24 as standard but they are very similar in terms of power

Just noticed you said you have a dastek piggyback on the ecu which might have been mappable 7 or 8 years ago but i dont know anyone who still uses them let alone maps them but it is possible to map these
