Much as I suspected, there is an element of a "clique" for old timers, newbies need to become accepted.

Contentious and nasty comments are somewhat ignored.

The clique thing always makes me laugh. Can you imagine if a strange bloke sat down at your table in the pub and started asking your mates which plasma TV to buy or "what should I buy my girfriend for her birthday", what would their natural reactions to the aforementioned person be ?
