ECU tuning option for a 1997?

Hi all,

Its been a while since I have had my hands on a Scooby but a blue 97 Terzo has come my way.

I used to have a year 2000 so ECU tuning was easy but I think I remember that a 97 was a funny ECU?

Its currently running a VF28 turbo and a straight through exhaust, if I want to start increasing the power and getting a bigger turbo I know the ECU is going to need remapping or changing. Whats my options?

Thanks in advance, Hoff.

Think you mean ESL Enduring Solutions Limited but as far as i know it's not finished so it's a KLR16V said the OP has to replce the entire unit.

there is the Unichip and Greddy E Manage but i think most people shy away from these

I have a dastek unichip fitted to mine and its been faultless so far.
Sitting at 260bhp and 258lbs torque.
Mines a classic with 135000 miles on it and its running better than ever more mpg as well. Its been on since june and it transformed every aspect of the engine.

Piggyback works well when there are no other options, but apexi powerfc, simtek, link etc all far better options imho

I think the cost is the big issue really, not going for a major state of tune but still need to remap for bigger turbo and intercooler. Piggyback it is then!

I have just taken my old Simtek from my 97 type r and will be selling it shortly.

I only changed it as I wanted launch control and as this is the old model it cannot have launch control added. So I bought the new version.

It still has most of the features of the new hardware and was on mine running 490bhp.

PM me if you are interested.
