Impreza genius help please?

Can you please list all possible reasons why a v2 sti might have a high idle, around 2400 revs hot and cold?, can you please rack your brains for all causes including the most unlikely please!! It is doing my head in now!
thanks

hi have been reading your project as for high idle speed i know you will have checked but you either have an air leak on a pipe/gasket even check brake servo line all vac/boost pipes if there are no leaks then back to basics sticking idle valve, sticking throttle flap or throttle cable/pedal i know these are the hardest problems to find but usually a simple fix good luck :thumb:
oh and check the injector to manifold orings

thanks people, believe it or not i have eliminated just about everything possible now, all that is left is cracked head or something along those lines, or electrical??

one last thing check is the idle valve i know u have checked it but i do know that yours is same as mine it has 2 phillips head screws on it and if you loosen them you can turn it one way and the other this opens the valve and closes it (it works on an electro magnet) if this has been off and not put back right this can cause your problem its worth a try just slacken em off and give it a tweek ooh err! after that im beat was it ok after the remap or has it gone off since :wonder:

All was fine at the map, ok for four days, then suddenly this idle problem, i had done nothing to the car.

I experienced , idling issues when i had an issue with the coolant temp sensor. So a possible check... Good Luck
