KS-3 vs det cans
.....please no arguing.
whats peoples opinions of the ks-3 KS-3 Knock Analyser - Knock Detection System. Complete Kit - Knock Sensor Included. against the good old fashioned det cans? I know tuners will probably argue FOR the det cans, but I think technology is starting to get far superior. I know of software for the evos that uses the standard knock sensor, and guys tune this to random knockcounts of 1 or 2. but apperently using det cans with said software, you can't hear anything until about knock counts of 4-6. .....so with that being the case, I know which I prefer. opinion, pros, cons......... cheers |
KS3 is very good.
I use both KS3 and old fashioned det cans. |
i'm thinking of getting the KS-3
|
KS3 in my car.
Here is an early thread discussing it on 22b: 22B Bulletin Board: Phormula Knock Analyser Pro (Det Cans) Used by quite a few of the top tuners I believe (with the Pro add on) inc Zen Performance and Andy Forrest Performance. There is a Pro Add-on for tuners which includes headphones. |

How do you know your knock analyser isn't having a deaf day..
I'd trust my ears far more than some flickering numbers |

fair enough....lol
do you have the pro add-on, or just use the display on the ks3? |
Just the KS3 - I calibrate with both (and the knock detection on the ecu) once confident that KS3 is reading what the det cans demonstrate then I am happy.
|
Just use the normal KS3 here.
Am happy to look into extending the £10 OFF Offer if there is enough interest... :thumb: https://www.scoobynet.com/trader-ann...ial-offer.html |
