removing rear bumper on classic
 

as above please,need to remove rear bumper,just thought id ask before i go outside and scratch my head trying to work it out.

Bit of a PITA from what I remember. I had to replace mine after a back box I fitted melted the old one.

Lots of flimsy popper things.

oh great.....not looking forward to that then

yup,annoying little plastic lugs that snap off etc,replaced most the plastic bits with cable ties and the plastic hole in the bumper brackets wears bigger and the plastic lugs are loose meaning for a wibbly wobbly bumper.

open boot lid, you`ll see some plastic clips that need removing.

then underneath you`ll see some more.

once its off,you`ll be surprised at how little of an impact bar there is for a rear shunt !

Did mine not so long ago, wasn't that bad, depends what you patience is like.

There's a bolt either side of the bumper just behind the wheels.
Then the rest of the fixings are plastic 2-part clips, around 15 if I remember rightly. You'll need to get under the car to get to a few of them, but they are all identical so once you've found one they are easy to spot.
Most of the clips are on top on the bumper running along the edge and under the rear lights, these will have to be taken out.

I found that most of the clips broke, so I bought a new load from Subaru, which made the removal easier when I knew I didn't have to re-use em.
And that's it really.
The hardest thing by-far is removing the rear lights due to the factory sealant that they are stuck in with.
