boost reading on my wrx
fitted new boost gauge on my wrx ( 2.5 turbo newage wrx ) and tee'd it off at the left hand side of engine above turbo on one of the vaccuum hoses and went for drive and its not moving when i am driving then when i change gear or back off its shooting up to only 0.5 bar is this right?

does any1 know what could be wrong or what could be causing a low reading?
|
Is there a spare nipple (with a rubber cap) on the manifold you can use? If not you should 'T-off' from the turbo nipple. What you describe sounds like you might be reading the pressure that is being applied to the wastegate actuator.

oryt i see would tee'n it off at the dumpvalve vacuum hose be better reading just?

problem solved cheers mate thanks for your help now boosting at 1.4 bar

i personally wouldnt tee off from any of the boost control pipe work, if it leaks
will cause boost problems. I tee-d mine into the vacuum hose on the DV |
