In this climate as much as someone will wanna pay, or should I say as little!
Its a sad fact that mods, rarity etc have little or no effect on an already dead motoring market.

so are you saying that if you went to a forcoart and that was sitting next to a bog standard version, you wouldnt pay more for the modded one? of coarse it's worth more. the problem might be that not a lot of people are buying performance cars at the moment or any cars for that matter.

if i was looking for a wagon i'd probably pay £1000 more for that than a standard version, but with a car like that its going to come down to if someone wants it enough

just to add ,one of the best wagons i've seen

all just imo

had a look on autotrader, all the 52 plates i so were bugeyes.and around £5500 i would think someone looking for a wagon with £6500 to £7000 would consider yours,
good luck

subaruturbo_18 10 December 2008 12:09 AM

it certainly looks cool.

nope, it would sell at book price, mods do nothing towards the value of your car, why do you think so many people are breaking theres just now?

stigaz 10 December 2008 12:29 AM

the price of the mods alone amount to more than the extra cash when sold with the car ?

so you go to a garage and that one there is priced at £500 more than a bog standard one you would do what?or if you were looking through the auto trader you wouldnt pay the extra to get the modded one, thats all considering you like the car and mods done.

i cant be the only person who would pay at least £1000 above the book price considering ,if i bought a bog standard one i would then be getting an exhaust and remap just to start with , and that would come to more than £1000. but like i said the problem is ,does anyone have money to spend just now.

A bonny looking car i have to say but in this climate he will get what someone is prepared to pay, however if that was me looking to buy a wagon the first piccy puts me off straight away it implies it's being ragged on a track and for that reason only i would not buy, I would rather not know that part of it's history I'd want to know that it was serviced every 500 miles and read a good night story every night before being tucked in the centrally heated garage after having all it's mods lovingly polished.

stigaz 10 December 2008 12:44 AM

the way i'v allways bought cars is, i have the limit i'll go to then i look for the best car at that limit so someone with say £6500 might buy that wagon instead of a bog standard newer one

nsld 10 December 2008 12:44 AM

The reality is that people mod scooby's so they can rag them, and as the photos show its been round the track a few times (very nice wagon btw)

Modded cars never recover the value of the mods you put on them.

I am a classic man (read that as old) my first my99 wagon cost me £10k, replaced 3 years later with an identical my00 one with same low starting mileage for £6k, looking on Autotrader there is an identical wagon to my current aging classic with 35,000 miles and a FSH for £3500!

With every new version of a car the previous versions suffer a super drop in value alongside the normal depreciation.

Its a buyers market, its only worth what people will pay!

pimmo2000 10 December 2008 01:01 AM

Lovely Wagon .. but I would pay more for an unmodded one for day to day use as its less likely to have been abused !

superstar1 10 December 2008 03:24 PM

I thought that every idiot knew that modding a car actualy lowers its value.
How many times have you seen the statement in adverts:
Never been molested.

Jamescsti 10 December 2008 03:32 PM

Just a bit of info for comparison,

My old dad just bought a 2004 54 plate WRX Wagon, completely standard Uk version with just over 40k on the clock for £5995 with 12 months MOT and 6 months tax from a dealer (not a subaru one).
Might give you some idea on current values

chieftain333 10 December 2008 04:36 PM

Thanks for all your input, its a lovely car and im not gonna lie, shes been used on the track....im not gonna buy a car like this and not find out how it handles/goes.But its been looked after, oil change every 3k and washed/clay barred whenever I can,if that effects price....so be it.Like many of you have said, people will pay what they want to pay so ill just have to see what I can get :thumb:
But like what stigaz has put,Id rather buy a modded car than standard car,1-it saves you thousands of pounds modding it and 2-if its modded properly and has all the reciepts....why not.
Yeah if its standard and you mod it,you know its been done by yourself and is done right but think of the lighter wallet!!
Andy

sKunk 10 December 2008 04:36 PM

You never reclaim the cost of mods when you sell. Best to strip the mods off the car, sell the car standard then sell the mods.

EddScott 10 December 2008 04:52 PM

Being an import what is its tax bracket - that may improve its sale value.

As for its price, the price really depends on how long you want to take to sell. High price it will take time if at all, low price it will be gone by xmas. As to how much, those cars that have been on PH for sale for 3 months are too expensive, those that sell in days are probably too cheap.

wrx9181 10 December 2008 05:21 PM

nice car mate like that

I wanted this the last time it was up forsale :thumb:

mbayley77 10 December 2008 06:14 PM

Ok I agree with everyone saying its worth what someone will pay...of course - this is a broad statement that gives no real sense of anything!

The important thing is what is it worth to you? What do you want to replace it with? Do you just need cash to pay off other things? etc etc etc.

dunx 10 December 2008 07:36 PM

I can confirm that a few laps of Blyton are less "abrasive" than the equivalent mileage on the streets of Leeds....

:lol1:

The car is always spotless and Andy is gutted to let it go.

DunxC

P.S. In the dark the rear end looks like a BIG Cossie style spoiler :D

stistussy 10 December 2008 11:09 PM

nice car, better to be told it's been around the track, than being told is never been ragged at all.if it starts, drives and looks ok,what more do you want.you can always have a mechanic check it before you buy.

You'd love mine then :D.

One of the nicest wagons I've seen.

Good luck if you do sell.

Personnally, unless you can afford the hit of selling or have to sell to cover other costs then you're simply better off keeping.

EAndy 12 December 2008 05:15 PM

I passed a White Newage Wagon in St.Ives today at.. erm... 1.55pm was it you? or is there more than 1 :)

Looks lovely though.

chieftain333 12 December 2008 05:22 PM

No doubt it...I live in bradford :)
There are a couple of white bugeye wagons knocking about but no blobeyes.....apparantly...thats the word, subaru have no records of any in this country, neither on scoobynet or any of the shows so possibly mines a one off :thumb:
