FMIC and standard airbox

Ok,

im building a fully forged engine at the minute and fitting an MD321T turbo to it.

Want to get about 400bhp out of my 2.0.

Running a FMIC at the min but want to know can i run a standard airbox with it. Would the standard airbox be able to cope with 400bhp?

or would i be better off putting an sti8 top mount on with the standard airbox?

Basically i want the engine bay to look as standard as possible. "sleeper" ;)

thanks
Jamie

the standard airbox doesn't fit with a front mount, not enough room for the pipework simple as.

400+ you want to be running a front mount anyway

As Tidgy says.

Standard box can cope with 400hp. I believe andyF runs 450hp sti tmic + std airbox.

I have seen some FMIC cars still run a std airbox - depends on the make / piping etc. So yes it can be done.

if im keeping the front mount im keeping the fmic.

just wanted to know if i could do the whole standard looking engine bay litchfield style.

How can they get over 400 on standard airbox?

Because on a newage the std airbox isn't a big restriction like older models.
