njkmrs 06 December 2008 01:18 PM

Anybody else splashing the cash ?????

Mus 06 December 2008 01:53 PM

intrest rate and vat might of gone down but that doesnt mean that banks will start lending

davyboy 06 December 2008 01:57 PM

I'm trying to buy a used motor bike, but the clowns selling them don't seem to think the credit crunch should effect them

Just watching the amount of unsold/reserve not met cars & motorbikes on ebay is scarey.

You're doing a really bad impression of Lewis. :lol1: :thumb:

My redundancy on tuesday begs to differ.

Sellers need to get a grip before things start moving.

Houses and Cars - only the sensibly priced stuff is selling.

Good Man .Thats the spirit >:thumb:

Right ,treating the family to a Curry tonight as well .Couple of beers ,watch Man u Sunderland .

I will soon get this country back on track .!!!!!!!!!!!!! sPEND SPEND SPEND .

scoobynutta555 06 December 2008 04:26 PM

Sold my Impreza and bought a load of shares in the company I work for. Lots of people trying to sell cars seem to be asking unreasonably high prices then moaning about nothing selling. It will sell if it's properly priced!

Thinking about putting one of my houses on the market next spring as well for another project.

njkmrs 06 December 2008 04:36 PM

Dont be giving it away though .Tried to sell a couple of property,s last year with no luck .Will keep now till things are improved .Still paying for itself while rented out .Ho Hum .
Wouldnt mind the cash right now though .!!!

scoobynutta555 06 December 2008 04:40 PM

No won't be giving it away ;) I rent it out, have owned it for 16 years and rented out. I'm planning a renovation of a property in Ireland and need to fund that. If I don't get what I'm looking for I'll keep renting it out until the market improves.

njkmrs 06 December 2008 04:43 PM

I wanted a place in France ,but it will have to wait .Especially now with the rate of the pound v the Euro .Missed the boat for the moment .
Catch it next time its in port !!

Good Luck on your project .

scoobynutta555 06 December 2008 04:52 PM

Tell me about it, the exchange rate is the bigest killer in all of this!

njkmrs 06 December 2008 08:36 PM

I would have gone for the Shagpile!!!!!!!!!!!

Petem95 06 December 2008 08:42 PM

Nope, spending as little as possible. Was planning on selling my car and trading up, but am now selling it and trading down to bank the remainder.

People should be saving money, not spending. Brown and his crazy government want people to spend spend spend to keep the bubble going - but all this will do is prolong the pain, as at the end of the day it's not sustainable.

The sooner we get to a sustainable level the better. Not until then will we start to see things get better overall.

davyboy 06 December 2008 08:45 PM

I'd suggest you won't get many buyers for the car, and won't get much for it.....however you will get a bargain when you come to buy.

Lots of cars on ebay not meeting reserve.

njkmrs 06 December 2008 08:48 PM

Spend within your means .
Surely if everybody hoards their money ,it will leave the economy stagnant and more people will end up out of work .??

I am not saying go and hammer the Visa .

Tell me about it! :( Was pretty shocked when I looked at sold prices a couple of weeks back on Ebay! Car (2004 A3 Sport) has lost over 30% of it's value this year! But yeah I remember looking at sold prices of new shape Boxsters back in August and was amazed when I saw one at £26k, but now only 3-4 months later I've seen them to go for £16-17k!

Things look set to get much worse however, hence why I've decided to trade down for now.
