Driveways

Suppose it's car related.

Quite a interesting and wide range of people on the forums so chances are someone may know of someone.

At present our driveway house's 1 car but the concrete over time is beginning to crack at the edges. The stone side houses 2 cars.

Basically want the drive doing so it'll house 3 cars on a nice tidy drive, most likely block paved and wondering if anyone know of anyone who does this, can recommend anyone from experience. I've had a few 'phone quotes' of about £29 a square metre, drive is and it's about 6 months since i measured around 11 metres x 7 metres so 77 metres squared but there is a sidewalk etc as well that would need doing so in all I think it worked around 90 metres squared.

I've no idea if thats a good reasonable price? this was all before the economical collapse so guess I can get a better rate now?

Sorry for long arse essay basic points...

1.) Is £29 square metre good or rip off?
2.) Anyone know people who do driveways
3.) Do I need planning permission for the drive
4.) Is it possible to have a normal curb made to a drop curb and if so how?

Thanks.

amber paving - did mine and down the side and the rear garden, had a haggle with him for cash and got a very good deal

they dug out 2ft, filled with a foot of hardcore and all work done within a week.
