BOOST

I have a 97 wrx import, i am planning on putting an open neck h&s downpipe on it.
Will i suffer more fuel cut/boost cut if fitted? Would a manual boost controller turned down and a boost gauge be a safe way to control this? or can the actuator be adjusted to sligtly lower boost safely?
many thanks

I used to get fuel cut in the cold weather after fitting a HKS downpipe but i changed to a slightly better ecu BUT mine is an early wrx so i had more options for a standard ecu change.
You could fit a fuel cut defender and boost controller but imo the best is to get a remappable solution.

you will prob get more fuel cuts as your turbo spins up quicker, what sort of boost are you running now?
the cheep way of more boost is a fuel cut defender and a manual bleed valve BUT it can be doggy if your fueling aint to good, id look into whether your ecu can be remapped or just getting an upgrade ecu+remap but thats the safe expensive way.
