Value in the current climate?

SNetters, can you take a look at my plus profile and give me an honest opinion on how much you think my car is worth. It has just gone past 15,500 miles.

I am the first owner since registration in the UK.

Thanking you :)

Nice motor!

Sadly, if you are selling in today's market you'll have to be very realistic and that probably means anything up to 30% less than you might have hoped for.

Have you talked to Litchfield?

S3TH 22 November 2008 09:49 PM

Your car is very special but you will only have a very small niche market of serious buyers. That said those kind of buyers probably wont be affected by the credit crunch and you car should still fetch a good amount.

Certainly when the economy picks up again your car will still be highly sought after.

I dont think mere mortals like me with standard STi`s will be so lucky though, i think the plummet we have seen is probably going to be permanent if that makes any sense.

I may know somebody looking for that very model. I will point him in the direction of this thread if you are thinking of selling?

Lovely car mate .... cant guess it's value as it'll make mine even more depressing. Just a quick question on your cars power figures if I may ...

you're getting 242.5 at the wheels... how come so low for the spec of your car ? Can't be right can it ? I'd have thought you'd be up at the 290+ mark.

sorry to go off topic ..... I'd be happy to swop LOL

It's at the flow limit of the standard exhaust system. If I were to fit a 3 inch system power would no doubt climb substantially.

I've seen similar readouts of other peoples figures from different dynos and their atw figures seem higher even though the flywheel power is around the same as mine. Just the way the rollers are at Powerstation I guess.

Well i sold my Spec C last week for 16k woth only 15k on the clock and that was a standard car, guess i fell lucky with that sale tbh, but an RA-R must be a few grand more minamal surely, especially in your condition, spec etc..

What figure do you have in mind you,d like?? REALISTICLY

MrRA 23 November 2008 12:43 PM

I'm not looking to sell at the moment, I would just like to see where the market is sitting and what are people's opinions on the value of the car.

If I were contemplating selling though the figure would have to be over the £25 grand mark.

Pete 23 November 2008 12:46 PM

25k is alot imo (NOT AN INSULT BY THE WAY) and like we all know, it,s s certain market for the RA-R but there,s always a bum for a seat somewhere i think...

Mikkel 23 November 2008 12:54 PM

You would be lucky to see over £25k which is very sad IMO as that is a cracking motor. I reckon between £22-£25k in a private sale. Were you a dealer maybe £25-£27k. Basically you'd probably need to list it at £25k and take offers.

valley commando 23 November 2008 02:29 PM

the market is not looking to favourable at present fella:mad:
especially when you could import a yellow one for under 17k with very low mileage ;)
keep ur chin up and try and get your monies worth out of this one and use it

Pete 23 November 2008 02:40 PM

Where could you import one for that kind of money? They were selling for well over list price around 5 months ago, and that was when you could get approximately 230 Yen to £1. Now the exchange rate is half that so I'd be very very surprised if you could get an RA-R for that kind of money.

its not the exchange rate fella its that horrid R word
i know a guy who bought a brand new 207 gti for the same price as they were asking for a bog standard L model and a saving of 6k
its a real sad time for doing any business at the mo
look at Hoovers they have gone pair shaped people are just looking to sell even at a loss at the moment just to be in business in 2009

FMC 23 November 2008 10:04 PM

i'll swap you for my ST but you'll have to make sure you put a full tank of petrol in it

You're talking about a completely different scenario here. That car would've have probably come from a franchised dealer desperate to make their sales quota for the month.

That still doesn't answer my question of where you could you get an RA-R imported for £17k.

go on bro you know you want to ;)

bluenosewrx 24 November 2008 01:02 PM

In this current climate i reckon about 20-22k mate, reason i say this is that:

1. Very Niche market.

2. The way this recession is going ppl now expect to get bargains and evrything has dropped in price.

I know its not what you possibly wanted to hear, but there are two that i know off that have been for sale for ages and still not sold.

If only i had the money i would, however all this is in my opinion and is no way intending to insult you either way mate, good luck.

There is a guy on the FSTi site who has went down to 17k for his mega spec 415 Bhp Forester, shocking

P.s what the F*ck has hoovers got to do with a RA-R?????

Mac
