md321v
has anyone tried running a md321v on a 2l forged engine
|
try the H ..its better suited to the 2.0
|
already running the t
|
prob best ring lateral, he will advise
|
I assume the v will be similar to my gt30r I ran on an uprated 2ltr engine and I thought it was great fun :D Lag until about 4200rpm then :D:D

I think it's a great idea ;)
|
could be worth trying,surely someone must have a md321v on a 2l
|
I might be doing this fairly soon :)
Banny |
i had a bit of an overspooling problem with the md321t and the bearings have failed so i am in the process i having it rebuilt by mark at lateral,i will have to have a chat with mark on monday to see whether he thinks its possible.
|
I think one of the blokes who works at bucks subaru is either running one, or will be soon.

This is a graph of the gt30r on my 2ltr, unfortunately before the rolling road I messed on with my boost controller and limited its power to 1.1bar, It normally ran 1.7bar and was about 490bhp :D

great figure but how drivable is it on the road what is it like to live with on day to day bases?
|
Very easy on the road as due to the lag you can drive nice and slow but if you want to boot it just drop a gear and :D:D TBH I actually thought it was too slow and opted for more power but it was a cracking drive and I would put the V at somewhere similar but probs more lbs so maybe a better car :D

All joking apart Steve, that must of felt aweful on the road lowdown. |
shaun I really liked it, as I said if you wanted to go fast just drop a gear. If your doing 30mph in 4th and suddenly dropped a gear it was good fun and if you wanted to show boat just put the fecker in 2nd gear and boot it :D The hit from acceleration was great. Obviously the car is much quicker now but I really liked that setup :D

I had a 500bhp set-up with a lagsville T4 on my RS500.... I've been there and certainly wouldn't recommend to anyone to aim for similar response. Regardless of the "gear change" scenario, it was truly aweful to drive as a road car...... regardless of what "figures" it made. :) Whilst you try and find the right gear and get on boost, someone else with a responsive set-up was gone in to the distance. ;) Not my idea of fun! :D

Afaik no-one has run one on a 2Ltr.
I think the boost threshold would be a chunk higher than the T. When are you getting 1 bar on the T on a 2Ltr ? |
This is my old set up in Pauls (Terzo320) car, it makes 1 bar by 3300 & 2 bar by 3700. Make 426 on Zen's rollers @ 1.95 bar with 10% meth, however it was restricted by standard ported headers.
|
That has been run in the wrong gear. It's on a dastek dyno, and the complete absense of power at low rpm is because the car can't match the ramp rate the dyno is trying to maintain, as a result the actual brake isn't activated till late in the run. The reality is that there is much more power between 3000 and 4500 that this graph suggests.

Paul what is your opinion on the GT3076R with a 0.82 housing on a 2 litre engine, does it make a good daily driver or is it just too top end biased?
Banny |
banny mine was a gt3076 with the .82 housing and I think on non avcs heads it would be even more laggy
|
GT3076 with 0.63 housing is perfect for 2.0, 0.82 is laggy on non AVCS, although good for power.
