annual service

my last annual service was at the same time as the major service so I had a garage do it so just wondering what is involved?

I've always changed the oil myself and I'm ok with basics on a car, no haynes manuals for these cars is a pain in the butt!

Cheers

Servicing is different depending on what year car/type you have, can we have a clue please? :)

Ok, so its an MY00 classic, this means that your belt is due, plus fluids, oil, gearbox, diffs, air filter etc, think your ok on the spark plugs but you can change them out if you want too, services are 7.5k/6 monthly, those 7.5k ones are just oil changes, so the 15k (1 year) 30k (2 year) 45k (3 year) 60k (4 year) are basically the ones that will cost more (the 15k aint too bad unless it comes in with one of the other ones, ie the 2 year and 4 year go together etc.

Big service, probably about 400 quid.

Just nearly touched cloth! fingers crossed you mean the 30k one is 400 quid?

Had the 90k done a little while back - I just need the annual service. with the festive times coming up I'm sorting out my finances

Surely not that much for the fluids, which belt needs changing? had the cam done on the 90k

If the car is an my99 or 00 it will be due a 60k, which is the cambelt, that adds about 90 quid onto the price as thats how much subaru cambelts are, but 400 quid isnt actually that much for a major service, but it takes about 5 hours to do (the service) hence the price (cambelt, gear and diff oil, engine oil and filter, coolant, brake and clutch fluid).
Remember how I said that the 30 2 year service and 4 year service add up, if you had an my98, last year would have been really expensive, thats about 3 services into 1! this is similar, but you dont cop it now until the 12 year service.

just noticed you have had the cambelt done at the 90k, possably means you need the spark plugs (another pain in the ass job, takes about an hour).

Tony:)
