RIP, my old friend..........

Well we had to say goodbye to the older of our two Cavalliers last night

Chloe, an old girl, who we knew was on her way out. But a couple of fits meant that we needed to call the emergeny vet. She had been our constant pal for 13 years along with her friend as picture (Chloe on right).

This is the 3rd time I have had to say goodbye to a dog and it doesn't get any easier I can tell you :(

We chose to end her days in our house with her friend, Jasmin, present. The amazing thing is that dogs sense and accept a death of another dog instantly and this eliminates the whining and moaning that would otherwise occur. Jasmin is back to her old self this morning. I wish I was :)

Will we get another one. Yes.

Thanks chaps and chapesses. It really does help to get some sympathetic replies. Means a lot to Diana (meme sahib) as well :)

:(
Sorry to hear this.
They truly are a member of the family who's part is not full appreciated until that void is there. You have Jasmin there to help. Strangely it's probably her that will help you all the most. As you say, their acceptance of the whole thing is very heart warming as she will no doubt miss her friend but knows she has the rest of the family to please :)
All the best to you all.

Paul.

David,
A sad day indeed, just remember all the good times you had with Chloe and it'll make you feel better.

A few months ago a very good friend of mine broke the news to me that she'd had to have our beloved weim Maggie put down :( I was rather upset as Maggie had been the first real dog I'd (co)-owned and I loved her to bits. But we remembered the many, many good things about her and that did cheer both of us up.

Condolences. Losing a dog is heartbreaking.

Cherish the good times, time will take care of the rest!

Feel better soon.
