Turbo Surge/FMIC - BOV
 

Got a serious problem with my turbo surging :brickwall. I know this is either the Boost Solenoid or the MAF sensor. I know where the boost solenoid is but not got a clue where the MAF sensor is :wonder: . What is the best way to determine which one is the problem/ how can i solve this problem? Can anyone help?

My other question is:

I have a FMIC to put on my car. What do i do with/Where do i put the BOV?

Any help is much appreciated.

The MAF is the largish black square module that is connected between the airbox (or cone filter) and the intake hose for the turbo. It has a white/grey electrical connector on it too.

I think standard practice is to have a short alloy joiner pipe welded to the IC-to-throttle body oulet pipe, for the BOV to attach to. I think it's best to site the joiner as near to the TB as poss.

An alternative fitment is to weld the joiner to the turbo-to-IC inlet pipe.

How can i find out if it is faulty?

What about the boost solenoid? any tips on that?

Accepted practice to service the boost solenoid is to squirt brake cleaner through it. I've nevwer had to do this, so wouldn't know how you go about ridding it of the cleaner afterwards :wonder:... Unless it just simply evaporates away lol
