Which are the best computer speakers?

for music whilst working and not for gaming, so surround not necessary.

The only ones I have heard are the bose computer music monitor ones and they are superb, but £250.

Is there anything better, for less money ?

Some bookshelf monitors & a separate amp would easily outperform any active computer speakers in that price range.

You could get a Cambridge amp and matching speakers from Richer Sounds inside that budget.

A friend gave me his old valve amp so it's connected to the pooter and my old Technics speakers are attached to that. Cost? Nowt .....

Well, actually the cost was just those for the Mission speakers to replace the Technics ......

JBL Creature 2.1 speaker setups are pretty good and way cheaper. Powered sub, volume control on one desktop speaker etc.

More stuff here: JBL Home Audio

Got a set, and had them a few years, perfect for desktop itunes listening etc. while I work.

Cheers

Another one through the Hifi amp to my floorstanders:thumb:
Was going to get PC speakers but then thought why bother when I have a far better sound system sitting beside the PC.:thumb:
