Satellite Aerial faceplate help
 

Hello

I've decided to sort out my Satellite TV as I've been lazy and left the box in the loft and distributed around the house.

I want to move it down into the lounge so the box can plug directly into the TV and then put the RF-2 feed back into the loft to distribute. To do this I appear to need a face plate with two satellite connections and two aerial connections (one to feed in and the other to distribute). Running of the wires isn't an issue as I live in a new house with hollow walls ...

Where can I buy a faceplate like that? I've looked in B&Q, homebase etc.. and they don't come close and can't find anywhere online.

Any suggestions about what I'm doing or about where to get the faceplate(s) appreciated.

You'll prob need to build it up yourself with a modular wallplate.

Also need to clarify your requirements - the Quadplex & Triplex plates shown above are designed to work with a Loft Box which combines satelite, TV & FM down a single wire, so the one I showed above would have 2 coax - one for the combined signal and one for the return.

If you want to run 4 separate co-ax cables, then you'll need to either use 2 plates of use a modular system like TopBanana recommended with a face plate and inserts

Whilst it's possible to do it in a single back box, it would be very tight with 4x Coax, so you'd really want a double box.

Also make sure you run decent quality co-ax cable.

Thanks for your help. The combining doesn't work properly as the loft box will then filter out the 'magic-eye' signals from Sky+.

I think I've decided to just have the LNB cables coming out of the wall as adding another connector apparently (?) makes the signal degrade for the satellite.

The problem now is I can't find the cable in the roof as there is too much insulation. If I'm bored tomorrow, I'm going to push up bamboo from the aerial socket in the lounge and see if it magically appears in the roof :)
