Help alternator belt wont go on?

The belt that came off was 5pk877 ordered another 5pk875 which i was told was fine but so tight wont go on looked at other web sites they say 5pk875 will fit ?

Is the alternator bolt slack and the alternator pushed right down ?
The belt your trying to fit is only 2mm shorter than the original belt so should fit.

Thats what the bloke in the shop said but it still would'nt go on i had the bolt out as well off the alternator i tried everything.
