Can a mobile call someone else while you are on it?
 

Wife was on her mobile for about 30 mins earlier and when she had finished 2 of her friends called to say they had a missed call from her during that half hour.
There is no log of the outcalls on her phone and the calls were made during the time she was on the phone to her other friend.

Bit wierd - can mobiles do this ?

You can conference call.

I would say no IMHO! Are you suspicious of something ? (Don't mean to be rude all in good will!)

Well as you ask.....! I was asked if I had "done something to her phone" !

Can you not call someone, then make a second call, by placing the first on hold, or does that only work on incoming calls ?

My Iphone can make numerous calls, while it gives me an all over body rub.....and vacs the house..... where would i be without my Iphone ;)

you can call other people whilst on the phone , i do it on my iphone and could do it on my sony ericcsson

The phones can do multi calls and conference so a fault could let you phone a few people at once without actually trying .. I'd be careful it could end up costing you !!
