is it quite loud?

does it turn heads?

how about on motorways?

msp1 14 February 2002 08:51 PM

Yes, Yes, OK

Had mine on for a few months now and I'm very happy. Car sounds good but not too loud inside. Sounds great outside, I know as I've made the wife do a drive by at high revs - wicked (she likes it as much as me).

Little bit of a drone on the m/way but not excessive. If I had to replace it I would buy a SS again.

I've got .wav files of scooby sport and magnex backboxes. Gives you an idea of what they sound like. Give me your e-mail address and I'll send them to you.

Excellent!

Please send me .wav's of the SS back box to akshay67@hotmail.com

Cheers!

I agre with msp1. It will definately turn heads. You will end up looking for tunnels or built up areas to blast through. Sounds wicked with the windows down!
I have had mine for about a year now, fitted an itg filter at the same time. Inoticed a difference in the car, pulls a bit better at low revs. Slight induction note aswell. Buy one you wont be disappointed!

I disagree, I have ss de cat downpipe & centre & bb and I don't think it's too loud, it's grumbly, definetly not offensive, wouldn't say its loud enough to turn heads unless you are revving it somewhat...imho

I've got a straight through Scoobysport 'zorst and it's not that loud really.

Very nice in tunnels.

Next time round, I'd get a scobysport downpipe and HKS centre/back (probably Hiper).

Can't afford it at the moment.

If you need a hand deciding give me a shout, Ive also got some sound files too if you need one.

I've got to disagree, but IMHO my backbox is kinda weird...my fully decatted Scoobysport exhaust is *FECKIN* loud....as in 100+ db at 4000 rpm loud.

I love it tho. :D

S.A.M. is that coz you took out all the packing? ;)

ScoobyJawa 18 February 2002 02:57 PM

I've just gone from Magnex BB to Scoobysport and the SS is fecking loud by comparison - turns heads everywhere!!! :D

Terzo 333 18 February 2002 07:52 PM

If turning heads is what you want then it HAS to be HKS ! There aren't many people that don't turn round if I floor it:cool:

As for the pops and bangs on over run...:D:D:D:D:D:D:D::cool:

Got a ss backbox on a wagon...

very droney, which is nice...:D:D:D

gonna invest in the rest methinks,

a good friend came round on friday with the complete ss system on my 00, heard him coming over the hill from about 200 meters, at low revs.....very distinctive, definately a head turner.......another mate (nate) has the complete system on a 94wrx, not only does it sound good, but he gets 3ft flames also..............

akshay67 19 February 2002 08:56 AM

How does one get flames to come out of the back box?

Matt Churchill 19 February 2002 09:09 AM

IMHO sounds fantastic. Had a bb before getting the full system, and it sounds much more like the car should. But a full system is a step up again, sounds like a rally car at full throttle, and pops and bangs when you lift off.

Both options are definite head turners, and are well worth the money I think.

As far as flames are concerned, my understanding is that you need an atmospheric dump valve on a full de-catted system, and you should then generate flames.

Standard(ish) Scoob, with SS Back-box only...

Click the link to get a Quicktime movie, that illustrates the wonder that is a decent exhaust... :D

(It would sound better, but the sound was on a low sample setting)

Any chance someone could email me the wav files, as I too am deciding between a Magnex and a SS.

Cheers
