I should be near 600bhp for 2009, so I would beat you in reverse. I may even try that to give you a sporting chance. :D

I will have a tenner on that :) easy win for micky :)

Can I have £20 quid on that Shaun chickens out again. He made the same boast last year that his car in reverse would beat mine.

gussy 06 January 2009 09:16 PM

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM if I remember rightly micky Shaun was pushing the car to the startline while holding a walkie talkie and simon was driving :) Im sure Shaun will be along to correct me if Im wrong :)

stevebt 07 January 2009 11:33 AM

Well at least this year he will be having ago at it himself??? I hope shaun turns his boost right up to 2.5bar for the day as his lower boost setting will show on the day ;)

Shaun 07 January 2009 07:16 PM

Steve,
The car did very well in 2008...... considering the turbine blade was destroyed! :D

You are behind the times mate. The car achieved 477bhp at the hubs last week (with the latest mods) on low boost of 1.8bar on VPower, so I have no need for 2.5bar now! :D It's now being mapped for BIO..... so the final results will be interesting. :)

Micky,
1/4m stuff did not interest last year.... this year I am a bit more interested. ;)

Gussy,
Yes, you are correct. :D

S.P.Developments 07 January 2009 07:31 PM

Fingers crossed we get the car finished in time, look forward to seeing you all there.

Regards, John

stevebt 07 January 2009 09:21 PM

Shaun,

With all this power you should get really good times?? I will have to see what my lowly power gets me ;)

gussy 07 January 2009 10:10 PM

Well all we need is a comfirmation date some of us have to book time off work/cover for our shifts I see Dill has already posted in general about dates

Hoopfully see y'all at Elvington.

Nice one. We'll see what your car can do in reverse then. :hjtwofing

No going back Shaun, you've said your car will beat me in reverse for 2 years now, time to prove it. ;)

Time to put up or shut up. How fast will a blobeye go in reverse? :lol1:

It'll be worth it Pete.

See if Shaun's gonna live up to his boasts or not. :D

stevebt 09 January 2009 10:54 PM

Shaun has hyped his power up so it had better be good ;) I know of a few newage imprezas hoping for a 10 second run :)

Shaun 10 January 2009 10:49 AM

I've only told the facts Steve. :D

It would be nice to get the car back to actually drive it on the road, let alone on track or down a drag strip.

To be honest, I will only try the drag thing a few times at a recognised venue (whether that is Elvington, Santa Pod or Avon Park). Whatever it acheives, it acheives. I'm not in the game to break anything, just to try and get that illusive goal. :D

Personally I prefer on track "stuff" more. :)

Anyway.... will yours be back on the road for May? :D :D

stevebt 10 January 2009 12:13 PM

I hope/expect to pick mine up next month, all the work has been done it just has to be bolted back toghether. Looking forward to getting it back and hoping for big power this time?

IRC450STI 10 January 2009 07:19 PM

Well i know i cant wait now that ive got my car back and it will be lighter and faster :norty: 2007 was the last time i used my car at shootout and ran a 12.0 1/2 mile with 383bhp and in oct 2007 i ran a 11.9 at the pod with 400bhp so cant wait to see what i can do this year at shootout, i had to use scoobyclinics ice driver last year as my car not ready :norty: that was fun :lol1: lets start praying for good weather & heavier cones :D

gussy 11 January 2009 11:11 AM

Well I have been in at work and booked that weekend off...sorted ....just need to get round to getting the car out of the garage it hasnt turned a wheel since the Mcrea run and get booked on another trackday to blow the xmas cobwebs out :)

Shaun 11 January 2009 10:39 PM

*IF* I get the car back in time, I will be blowing something (hopefully just the cobwebs lol) out at Cadwell Park next month. :D

Steve,
I REALLY hope if delivers what you are hoping for..... it certainly should do! :)

Puff The Magic Wagon! 12 January 2009 01:36 PM

I'll be there :D

Perhaps I'll get the Volvo round the handling circuit this time now that it's been mapped ;)

evo north 13 January 2009 05:41 PM

I've been a spectator at the last two Shootouts as I've had my little lad with me, and no-one to look after him while I have a go in the car, but this year I fancy having a blast.

I did two years running in my old classic wagon and thoroughly enjoyed my day, even though I was nowhere near the fast boys, so it will be nice to see how the new-age goes in comparison.

I just hope I'm off work for the 24th May!!!! :)

Wonder if I can get more power by then :norty:

chrisTOTB 15 January 2009 04:33 PM

as far as i'm aware the static db will remain at 103db and 106db respectively, (subject to confirmation though on this and the bracket times required). once this is sorted all the relevant details will be posted.
regards
