North Weald with Andy Walsh

As some you guys know I work with RSF Ray who sometimes posts on here

Well yesterday he spent the day with Andy

Talk about the car flying watch this clip

Little Off on Vimeo

Thankfully only a ripped mud guard and a minor scratch from the bollard

He is still smilling today :D

SirFozzalot 31 October 2008 01:11 PM

Scoooby300 31 October 2008 02:28 PM

Has he ever thought about taking up archery?

It was an amazing shot to hit the bollard. Bearing in mind that was the only thing for 100yrds in any direction. bet if he did the same thing another 9 times he wouldn't have hit it. Glad there wasn't too much damage.

North Weald I swear is jinxed.

Every time i've taken a car there something's happened. Blown clutch, to watching a mate reverse into a steel bin for a few examples.

Car Limits

£38 seems like a bargain ripping round the airfield all day?

WRX_Dazza 31 October 2008 05:59 PM

add on a set of tyres and tank of gas and recalculate !!! :)

Indeed, and does he say he will stick at 70! surely not, even Milamber was quicker than that.

maybe it just shows how good scoobs are, or how poor RS's are? :wonder:

I think I was quicker than you on that particular corner last time.

It is a very fun day for the money. You do need some balls to take the top speed bend at 75mph+ I couldnt do it in the MR2 above 70 without spinning. The two handling circuits are decent enough and the final sprint circuit is great fun.. T6 Dan is booked in for the 14th november and I will be booked as soon as the MR2 Turbo is repaired.:thumb:

Oh dear never thought I would have to defend myself

The activity days are really good to have some fun and not really take it too seriously.

The spin in the video was quite a quick one, I estimate the speed to be around 95 when i turned the wheel, to be honest i dont think many scoobs would do it at that speed.

Excuses, well tyres were what was left over from a track day at Bedford so not too much tread, plus it is impossible to warm anything up on these days as you are in a queue of about 15-20 cars.

So my intention was to have lots of back end out action and as it turned out even more spins :lol1: :lol1:

Got even better in the afternoon when the heavens opened and it started tipping down, will try and get some more vids and pics up later :thumb: :thumb:

If you click the link that phil has posted you can watch some vids from Bedford :thumb: where I thought it held its own very well.

I dont think it shows how good scoobs are or how bad the rs is, or indeed the other way round maybe.

What it does show is someone who only went to have fun which i definately did :luxhello: :luxhello:

Yes, 95 IS quite fast to try and take that corner :lol1: :notworthy

I think 85 with left foot breaking has been my limit...
there was more to be had, but i was trying to train how quick i could accelerate out of the bend too... :D

Time to take the BMW down to Andy and see what sort of speed i can do in that.... around 55 i reckon :wonder:

Sorry to disappoint you Fella but I took that same corner in my old 03 WRX at 95 without drama as Spallys underpants can vouch lol:D

Although trying to do the magic ton I did come unstuck:brickwall;)

Not disappointed at all :notworthy :notworthy

But i did say not 'many' and not 'any' :thumb: :thumb:

I am pretty sure that if I did a proper car limits day in the 2/4 person group with Andy in the car with me, I too would probably be able get get round it at 95 by the end of the day and not spin it at 95 :lol1: :lol1:

Will let you all know when I do a 'proper' day :thumb:
