How would you tackle this company?
My isp have just changed their networks which has knocked out vpn on the current package I pay for.
I've had a support call and they have basically admitted that the problem is them after trying to blame my vpn client then router (sadly I work for a comms company who is 1 of the isp's suppliers) so knew it was them :D Now their tech guys want me on 1 of their new packages as those setting work for vpn and its actually cheaper by a couple of quid, but sales want me to sign a new 12 month contract , although I'm only 6 months in on a 12 month deal with them. Would you a) sign the new deal b) force their hand into giving you want you want as its their fault for causing this. |
Is this one of those 'data' contracts that allow GRE through?
A complete con if you ask me. I may not get the best deal with BT but there's never been any mucking around with what ports are allowed. |
personally I'd choose (b) - it would appear that as you have both insider AND technical knowledge, I'd nail em to the wall. After all, they've broken the T&Cs of the contract......

I do indeed have insider knowledge.
The ISP happens to be a customer of the company I work for for their credit card software, but I've tested all my kit on a neigbours adsl line so know none of the kit is at fault, and the vpn used to work before they changed all their networks to"allow 24 meg connections". |
