HKS evc boost valve
 

:eek2: ive installed a HKS evc 3 port poppet valve to my04 wrx,
the problem is its designed for a two port wastegate, mine is single port spring return.
controller has 3 settings....1, low 2,...high 3,... manual
ive plumbed it as instructions:-
1) port 1 goes to inlet manifold after butterfly, so i tee,d in to my HKS blow off valve, that seems to work fine as im getting readings on the LED,s on the unit and my boost guage.
2) port 2 on poppet vavle connected after turbo and before intercooler as per instructions. (instructions also say tee off to turbo wastegate this i havnt as its sigle port)
3) port 3 on vavle connects directly to wastegate port.

this does work but it works in reverse!! you set boost to max on controller and it boosts at minimum level about 5psi
set boost to min as ive only done the once for an obvious reason :lol1: it hit nearly 40psi :eek2: in no time. then i let off power asap. (it sounded like jet plane was unda the bonnet :lol1: ) now i control it on manual, turning the manual knob for more boost it it gives me less and vice versa, im running it at approx 16psi.
also what is the safe boost level you can go upto:confused: is it about 20, as my controller red leds (lines) at 21.5 psi
