Prodrive 330mm

Can anyone tell me from experience if I can replace my worn Prodrive discs with something a little gentler on the wallet please? I asume that Alcon originally made these kits up for Prodrive? I think they are 2 piece but have never done anything to them except change the pads.

Oh, by the way, they are on an 03 Forester XT, with all the Prodrive kit that the P/O could throw at it.....!

Thanks in advance.

If the disc are 2 piece then they are not the original Prodrive discs.

Ian at Godspeed is the only one I know of that does a 2 piece disc for them. He's a regular on here so he may be along shortly to confirm prices.
Thanks,
Paul.

Sorry Paul, they're not 2 piece at all. I guess they're disc and bell.

What I can't get my head around is that I can buy replacement Porsche 911 discs for £45, yet have to pay the earth for parts for he Dogwagon!

If they are normal discs i.e. one cast part then they are Subaru parts only, Alcon will not supply, so be prepared to have you hat nailed on.

I think it's cheaper to buy the discs and bells, the 2 piece kit from Ian and then just replace the discs when needed.

Thanks Paul, I phoned Ian and had a chat with him about my options......what a nice bloke he is too. He outlined my choices as follows:-

a.) Sell/PX my Prodrive kit to someone who might use it a little more than my Mrs on the school run.
b.) Bite the bullet and and pay £490 to Prodrive for discs and pads.
c.) Buy Ian's 2 piece kit for a similar price, with the added benefit of only needing to replace the discs next time and not the bells.

I'm still undecided as to which avenue to follow. Is anyone interested in making me an offer for my current set-up?

Ian, if you're reading, thanks again.

Cheers,

Mark.
